Lately, I've been an avid reader of Essence.com simply because their magazine and website is one of the best resources for women of color. For years, they have provided us with quality articles discussing relationships, careers, finances and fashion. As an African - American woman, I can say that this magazine truly understands the wants and needs our culture.
With that being said, I am on a journey of natural (enhanced) beauty. When I use the term natural (enhanced) beauty I am describing the art of accentuating your natural physical features. An example of natural (enhanced) beauty includes getting a manicure without acrylics; using natural hair products instead of chemical based products; and wearing make - up with the technique of still being recognized.
Several of my girlfriends and I are transitioning our hair from being relaxed to natural, simply because it's healthy and chic! To celebrate our new found freedom, I wanted to feature photos from Essence.com of women wearing beautiful natural hairstyles. Enjoy!
